HOLDINGFORD -- Central Minnesota's first-ever full marathon will be run
tomorrow (Saturday).
The "Lake Wobegon Trail Marathon" will start in Holdingford and end
in St. Joseph. The 100 runners will also pass through the towns of Albany and
Avon on the 26.2 mile course.
Spokeswoman Sharon Hobbs says organizing a marathon is something her club has
wanted to do for a while now. Until now, the only full marathon in
this part of the state has been the Twin Cities Marathon.
Hobbs says the race will get underway at 7:00 Saturday morning. The winner
should be crossing the finish line around 9:45, with most of the runners
finishing between 10:30 and 11:30.
You are welcome to come out to St. Joseph and cheer on the runners.
